Registered Acupuncture: Restore Balance and Wellness with Jeeva Physio

Acupuncture is a medical technique that involves stimulating specific points on the body by inserting needles into the skin, aimed at treating various health conditions and relieving pain. Originating in China, acupuncture has become widely adopted by countries around the world. According to traditional Chinese medicine, disruptions in the body’s flow of energy, known as qi, can cause disease. By stimulating acupuncture points, the flow of qi is restored, traveling through meridians to influence the targeted area.

The depth of needle insertion varies by treatment and practitioner, but never deep enough to puncture organs. The needles may be left in place for five to 60 minutes before removal. After treatment, practitioners may reassess the client and provide suggestions for home care.

Acute symptoms may require only two to six treatments, while chronic cases may require 12 or more treatments over a period of eight to 10 weeks. Regular monthly visits may also be recommended for preventive care based on the diagnosis.
